Our Story

At American Floor and Home, one of Hawai‘i’s top locally owned flooring companies, that foundation was laid by our founder David Arita. Raised in Waialua, where he spent his younger days playing sports and raising chickens, David learned early the value of teamwork, respect and honest effort.
Those same values continue to shape the way we do business today— from the ground up. Over the years, we’ve evolved from a carpet-focused business into a comprehensive, one-stop shop for home renovations. Today, we proudly offer a wide range of high-quality, on-trend flooring, kitchen and bath solutions to fit every style and need.
Continuing the Legacy
The family business will continue to thrive under the leadership of Daniel Arita, a visionary trailblazer who grew up alongside the company. He brings his expertise and guidance to every department—business development, sales, installation and marketing. His dedication, insight, and unwavering belief in the company have been instrumental to its growth, making him a driving force behind its continued success. Working closely with his father over the years, Daniel also developed a deep-rooted passion for mentoring his team, helping them grow, and fostering their engagement within the local community.
One of the most important lessons my dad taught me is the value of surrounding yourself with great people who embody our company’s core principles to help expand the business with knowledge, hard work, humility and generosity.
